What does this mean "The device is designed for typical use in Europe but for optimum use in North America." ?? Should be removed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.74.7.50 (talk) 15:30, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Specifications

[edit]

The only reference given on this article was a non-reliable source. For some of the details, I suspect there is no reliable source, but I'll check.

Anyone adding reliable (ie, not blogs or 'previews' from review sites) source links is more than welcome. I'll probably remove anything I can't find a source for otherwise. Wibbble 18:56, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The main pages states "The Nokia 6300 has also been criticised due to its lack of scratch resistance, the large display and stainless steel back plate in particular" I personally think this is irrelevent - look around at reviews and people also state that the stainless steel back plate is one of the attractive things about the phone. also how is having a big screen a downside? in my Dads case its a bonus! This section sounds way to much like personal opinion so i think it should be removed?? (i own this phone and if you want a personal view i dont think it scratched anymore or less easily than my 6230i) --Si Hudson (talk) 01:39, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Short battery life...

[edit]

I love my 6300, but the one downside is the incredibly short battery life. I have had Nokia phones for 12 years and this is the worst ever. Judging from the various forums across the internet, this is not just my problem!

I keep Bluetooth turned off when I don't need it, and don't use any videos or anything else that uses too much juice and I don't make very many calls or texts. The battery will drain 75% in a single day. I spend my life re-charging it. Seems Nokia can't mix style and performance yet. Apart from that, everything else is great with the phone so I tolerate the battery problem. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.177.119.226 (talk) 13:53, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

HS-81 Citation

[edit]

http://www.amazon.co.uk/review/product/B000K7V8HC/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

the above link is to page with two customer reviews. Not exactly "peer review" stuff. The only other things I could find were the Nokia press release and the specs on the box of the HS-81s I own. Personal experience says they are a step above the HS-47 headset that come with the handset but that's me and is hardly "peer review" stuff. So, do we need to yank the assertion about the HS-81, even though I "know" it to be correct?

I'd dearly love it if someone could dredge up a Hi-Fi Magazine or something of that sort review of the HS-81 that said, "Your ears will think they have died and gone to heaven" or whatever so we could cite it. But I can't find it. Tzsm98 (talk) 23:20, 23 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Assemble

[edit]

I checked my Nokia 6300 it said it was assembled in Hungary while it says it assembled in Romania on the page. Maybe its assembled in both the Romania plant and the Komárom plant in Hungary. --Sheriff Elvis (talk) 08:10, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

latest official firmware version

[edit]

I have 7.21 and when I use the Nokia Software Updater, it tells me, that this is also the latest version. So I will change it to 7.21. Everyone, who has a source for 7.30 may change it back. --MrBurns (talk) 23:48, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I found a source for 7.30, but it is "only available for some produrct codes". So I will change it to 7.21/7.30. The only relevant change w/ the last uupdate 7.21 -> 7.30 seems to be "Operator name list updated". --MrBurns (talk) 23:52, 24 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discontinued?

[edit]

I think this phone is discontinued. Can people check if it is? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Magmar452 (talkcontribs) 10:18, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Despite there is a 6300-4G model, no Nokia 6300 4G article.

[edit]

There is a newer nokia-6300-4g. Without a Nokia 6300 4G article. In contrast, there is Nokia 8110 4G article. 176.12.190.85 (talk) 12:57, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
